Go on Screenwriters negotiate the Friends way!

Currently, Screenwriters responsible for most of the TV shows in the US, are on strike for more money. I wonder if they will be as successful at negotiating as the cast of Friends were a few years ago. The stars, Jennifer Anniston, Couteney Cox Arquette, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, were originally contracted individually, but they chose to negotiate collectively. This way Warner Brothers could not pay them differently, and could not replace one without replacing them all!! It paid off for them because by 2004 they were each making $1m per episode. They were simply stronger as the collective. Isn't there a message for companies there somewhere??

Good luck screenwriters, I hope your get what you deserve - The Simpsons wouldn't be the same without you!!
