Last Friday, this advert appeared in the usual stack of adverts while I was on Facebook. Aside from the fact that the targeting (on me) is a little off, what the hell is this Facebook advert about? Can you guess what they are promoting with 'bicep man' from the picture?
Maybe I am missing something about electricians? Maybe having large biceps is aspirational for prospective electricians?
Another example of a poor piece of social recruitment advertising. Know any others?

Brilliant. Never used Facebook advertising so not sure how it works - is there an option for them to show a default image for you because I’m thinking the targeted demographic for this ad is young males who would also be interested in bodybuilding so maybe there’s been a mixup?

Maybe bodybuilders are their target demographic? Perhaps it is some form of government initiative to get more strongmen into the sparky trade…

These kind of junk ads are everywhere on my Facebook right-hand column adverts.
Living in mining rich Western Australia I constantly get adverts like the above (but without the muscles) talking about how I could make big $$$ as a miner or tradesmen on a mine. Yet I have no interest, so its clear these people are not targeting their demographics appropriately. Maybe I’m targeted because I’m male? and that’s it?
This kind of junk will happen for some time until more people start to understand the idea of social integration in advertising, but unfortunately the entire world is still way off the mark.

Hilarious!
