Every once in a while amongst the social media haystack of blog posts, tweets, updates etc there is something that stands out that is different, visual (we all like visual) and simple. Yesterday, I saw one of these little nuggets. Even better 'it does exactly what it says on the tin' - Tagboard. [Thanks to Kirsten Robinette for highlighting it on Twitter]

It searches for #hashtags across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, App.net, Vine and Google Plus, and displays the results visually. As I said simple. You can choose to search across all of the networks or just search individually.

Obviously this could have many uses within recruitment - displaying jobs posted with specific hashtags, employerbranding, company hashtags, industry hashtags and importantly cross-platform hashtag campaigns (agencies will love this tool!). This one is down to your imagination. Go an try it by search for some of your #hashtags!

As an example I have set up a #SocialRecruiting Tagboard shown below and it has pulled the #socialrecruiting from Twitter, Google Plus, Facebook, Instagram, App.net and Vine

I have no doubt that this will develop further, adding the ability to Follow Tagboards, share Tagboards and Share individual Tags on the boards.

It already has a nice feature with web browser extensions for Safari and Chrome:

Search any hashtag via Tagboard directly from Safari's location bar. Just type the hashtag (with the '#' symbol) and hit return. (Safari versions 6+)

Chrome — Download

Search any hashtag via Tagboard directly from Google Chrome's omnibar. Just type the hashtag (with the '#' symbol) and hit return. (Also works when searching a hashtag via Google, Bing, and Yahoo.)
